Hi all! Still playing around with NAV 2013 and writing on our book NAV 2013 Inside I have noticed that the “Global Search” Ctrl+F3 now accepting only enter for the first selected item. So, in 2009 if you are entering “customer” (or anything else) and you want to open the first search result you have to use the mouse or navigate down by using the arrows and then hit enter. NAV 2013 beta supporting finally (the beta) “enter search text” and “hit enter”   If you are now thinking I am crazy to blogging about this – you don’t have any idea how often I was asked why this is not working   That was one small step for a developer… one… giant leap for an user :)

Hallo zusammen! Soeben am Rückweg aus dem Aufnahme Studio wollte ich euch eine  etwas ungewohnte Bedienung eines coolen neuen  Features wissen lassen. NAV 2013 bietet ja die Möglichkeit anstelle von konstanten Filter mit Variablen zu arbeiten. Beispiel: Möchte ich in einem Feld einen Filter auf den aktuellen Benutzer setzen gibt man %User ein. Möchte man in einem Datumsfeld die aktuelle Woche Filter week oder noch genialer und cooler   Startet man einen Bericht für Debitoren und möchte diesen nur auf jene Debitoren filtern welche unter “Meine Debitoren” eingetragen wurden %mycustomers Soweit so gut. nach kurzen Blick in die entsprechende Codeunit musste ich nur feststellen das für dieses Feature auch die Mehrsprachigkeit implementiert wurde. d.h anstelle der englischen Begriffe sind die deutschen zu verwenden. Dies muss man nur erst mal rausfinden   %Benutzer Woche %MeineDebitoren Zwar logisch aber doch etwas ungewohnt Alles in allem jedoch ein sehr cooles und flexibles neues Feature das uns noch sehr viel Spaß bereiten wird da sich die Variablen individuell erweitern lassen. mehr dazu demnächst.

Etwas versteckt noch auf PartnerSource, aber bereits verfügbar: ab sofort kann die BETA Version von Dynamics NAV 2013 heruntergeladen werden. Bitte lesen Sie vor der Installation alle verfügbaren Dokumente, System Requirements, Guides, etc… Die Beta-Version dient zum Kennenlernen und Testen des neuen Release und ist natürlich nicht für den Einsatz als Produktivsystem gedacht. Auf dem PC, auf dem die Beta installiert wird darf keine andere Dynamics NAV Version vorhanden sein. Die Größe der Installationsdateien für die Beta-Version beträgt ca. 760 MB. Über das Partner Learning Center ist ein neues Demovideo sowie ein Hands On Lab zum Dynamics CRM Connector verfügbar. Die Demo verwendet Dynamics AX als ERP-Backend, die Informationen zum Connector und das Hands On Lab können aber leicht auf Dynamics NAV angewendet werden. Im Hands On Lab werden neben der Einrichtung der Adapter und Maps und dem Logging auch zwei neue Mapping Funktionen in Visual Studio erstellt. There are some colleagues discussing about a performance boost using garbage collection together with NAV 2009 R2. This can bring up a better performance in concurrent user scenarios like “postings” .. There are not more details available like - what is the garbage collector http://msdn.microsoft.com/de-de/library/ee787088.aspx and - how to use it with NAV 2009: 1. Edit the file  Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Server.exe.config in the NAV Server directory and add <configuration>    <runtime>       <gcServer enabled="true"/>    </runtime> </configuration> 2.
